Mentor an At-Risk Youth with Kinship

Ongoing

Partner Description

Kinship Park Rapids is a regional mentoring program in which youth are empowered to make positive life choices through a relationship with a caring adult. Local school-age children and youth are paired with an adult for an on-going mentorship.
Need
A mentor is a trusted adult with a long-term commitment to provide friendship, guidance and support to an at-risk youth in the community. Help can change a young person’s life for the better!
More Details
Volunteers will be matched with a child in need of mentoring who shares common interests. They are encouraged to spend time together each week doing activities they both enjoy. Some mentors meet with their youth at the same time each week, while others prefer a more flexible schedule. Being a reliable friend the child can count on is a cornerstone of mentoring.

Mentors can be individuals or couples and will be screened. We offer training and ongoing support throughout the partnership.
Next Steps
Must pass a background study. Mentors must be at least 18 years old. Couples are encouraged to apply. Time involved is a few hours per week and is flexible. After you sign up we'll send contact information to get started with Kinship.
