Thursday Childcare for Shelter Families

Partner Description

The Sheepfold provides a safe haven for families who are victims of domestic violence and provides for all of their needs while they heal. The Sheepfold equips mothers with children suffering from homelessness or abuse for successful independent living with hope for the future. A key outcome is that they can live on their own independently and not be tempted to return to their abuser and destructive lifestyle.
Need
Give courageous mothers the gift of uninterrupted time to grow and heal! While mothers residing at the shelter are participating in their weekly Bible study, volunteers provide a safe, fun, and caring environment for their children nearby. Your presence allows these moms to fully focus on their spiritual and emotional recovery.
More Details
This is a deeply meaningful, relational opportunity for individuals or parents serving alongside their teenagers. Because this project takes place at a secure residential shelter site, all volunteers must complete a partner application and a Live Scan background check before their first serving date.

When: Thursday nights at 7:00 PM.

Age Requirements: Open to adults, or adults serving alongside their teenagers (ages 14 and older). Due to shelter guidelines, children under 14 are not permitted to assist with childcare for this project.
