Friday Food Distribution with Giving Children Hope

Partner Description

Giving Children Hope (GCH) is a community-driven nonprofit that equips front-line partners with resources to serve vulnerable children and families. As a faith-based partner, they provide sustainable hope through wellness programs and disaster response in collaboration with local and global communities. The Giving Children Hope community of volunteers and partners is focused on helping local families break out of the cycle of need into success and self-sustainment by providing food, household goods, and leadership development.
Need
Giving Children Hope works to combat weekend food insecurity for children in the Greater Orange County and Los Angeles areas. Volunteers help pre-pack grocery bags, sort produce and pantry staples, assist with drive-through distribution, and welcome families at check-in. Your service ensures struggling families have consistent access to nutritious food—week after week.
More Details

Volunteers MUST be 13 years or older. Food distributions will take place rain or shine. Volunteers between 13-17 years old must have a parent present during their volunteer shift. All volunteers under the age of 18 must bring with them a signed copy of our Minors Waiver of Liability. Please email volunteers@gchope.org for more information if you are bringing a minor to volunteer with you.

Volunteers will be assigned to pre-pack groceries for distribution, sort and distribute groceries, assist with community check-in, direct traffic, or other duties. Food distributions are critical connection points for our community to receive needed groceries - we will make every effort to stay open for these distributions. We have two active models, a client-choice and a drive-thru food distribution. Orientation and training are included in each shift.
