The Salvation Army's Adult Rehabilitation Centers (ARCs) provide residential recovery programs for individuals seeking to deal with substance abuse and other addictions. They seek to help participants regain self-worth, learn how to build an orderly and disciplined life and become contributing members of society. Each program participant is provided with a clean and healthy living environment, nutritious food, group and individual counseling, spiritual direction, work therapy assignments, and recreational activities.

Emergency shelters rely heavily on dedicated volunteers to ensure daily operations run smoothly and residents feel valued. By stepping into this role, you will help manage daily essentials—from serving hot mid-day meals to organizing clothing donations—creating a safe and welcoming environment for everyone.

This is a deeply rewarding, highly relational opportunity for individuals looking to make a consistent, long-term impact in the local community. To protect the privacy, safety, and security of the residents, all volunteers must walk through a comprehensive screening process before scheduling their shifts.
When: Flexible daily shifts are available Monday through Sunday from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM.
Capacity Limits: To ensure quality coordination, space is limited to 2–3 volunteers per day.
Commitment: Because it takes time to familiarize yourself with the program and build meaningful bonds, the shelter appreciates a minimum commitment of six visits. Over time, dedicated volunteers may have the chance to expand into advanced leadership roles!
Requirements: Potential volunteers must complete a volunteer packet, clear a comprehensive background check, and attend a brief on-site training session prior to serving.
