Cook & Share a Meal with Foster Teens

Partner Description

Olive Crest is a foster and adoption agency working to prevent child abuse and neglect by offering 15 different programs to children and families in crisis. Our programs fall into three different categories which are preventive care, crisis care, and preparation for independence working with children and families through their lives.
Need
Bring the warmth of a family-style dinner to foster youth! This is an incredibly meaningful opportunity to purchase groceries, head into one of Olive Crest's local short-term placement homes, and cook a delicious meal alongside the teenagers living there.
More Details
This ongoing project is an amazing way for a small group to build consistency and connect with foster youth who have experienced significant trauma and hardship. After preparing the food together, volunteers sit down to share the meal "family-style" with the teens, offering a supportive, grounding presence.

The Details: Volunteers are responsible for purchasing and providing the food ingredients for approximately 6 teens and 3 staff members.

Creative Ideas: You can host a backyard BBQ with the teen boys, cook a favorite comfort meal, or even bring baking supplies for an afternoon of cupcake and cookie decorating!

Requirements: This opportunity requires a team of 3–5 volunteers per home, and all participants must be 21+ years of age.
Next Steps
Gather your team and sign up today! Because these are secure residential placement homes, the specific location details will be disclosed to your group leader once your serving date and menu are confirmed.
