Giving Children Hope (GCH) is a community-driven nonprofit that equips front-line partners with resources to serve vulnerable children and families. As a faith-based partner, they provide sustainable hope through wellness programs and disaster response in collaboration with local and global communities. The Giving Children Hope community of volunteers and partners is focused on helping local families break out of the cycle of need into success and self-sustainment by providing food, household goods, and leadership development.

Equip local students with the confidence and tools they need to succeed in the classroom! For many families facing financial hardship, the cost of brand-new school supplies can be a heavy burden. Providing a fully stocked backpack ensures that children in our community can start the upcoming school year feeling prepared, valued, and ready to learn alongside their peers.

This is a wonderful, highly practical project for individuals, families, or small groups to complete together at home. You will pick out a sturdy new backpack and fill it entirely with a variety of essential, everyday classroom supplies.
Estimated Cost: Approx. $30 – $45 per completed backpack (Based on local Southern California seasonal retail pricing at stores like Target or Walmart).
Important Guideline: Please include only the designated school supplies on the checklist. Do not include any food, snacks, or edible items inside the backpacks.
