Care Groups

Let's face it: Life can get difficult... complicated. But you don't have to navigate these seasons alone. This caring community of people, who have walked the path to recovery, will walk beside you on your journey to hope and healing.

We have groups for folks who are going through a divorce, have lost a loved one, struggle with an addiction, are fighting illness, want to save their marriage, or are seeking mental wellness.

Feel free to review the groups below and reach out to the leader for more information or to sign up. If you have questions or need help finding a group, contact Greg Arbues or request more info. If you're looking for another type of group, visit our Group Finder.

Boundaries: Take Control of Your Life (Online)

For Women on Tuesday at 7:00pm PT | Weekly | Online

Leader(s): Deborah Hammond

This is a small group for women who want to learn the boundaries to a healthy, balanced lifestyle. We will be discussing the four boundaries that Dr. Henry Cloud and Dr. John Townsend write about in their book “Boundaries.” The four areas of boundaries are: physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. Often, Christians focus so much on being loving and unselfish that they forget their own limits and limitations. Dr. Henry Cloud and Dr. John Townsend offer biblically-based answers to some tough questions, showing us how to set healthy boundaries with our parents, spouses, children, friends, co-workers, and even ourselves.

Healing Hearts

For Women on Thursday at 9:30am PT | Weekly | Off-Campus | Grand Terrace, CA

Leader(s): Donna Shaddox

We are a Christian Faith based ministry. One of our goals is to develop a deeper and genuine relationship with God and others. Our studies are directed toward ways for women to view, think, act and feel better about themselves.

HURTS ...we have all experienced them. One Hurt can lead to another Hurt. A life of false beliefs that rejection, unworthiness, discouragement, low self esteem, insecurity and other beliefs will always be with us. Many have had very deep pain which extends beyond painful and Hurtful words.

All women are welcome. We are not counselors, but we do have a passion to help!

***We are not counselors, but we do have a passion to help others based on our own past experiences. We want to make sure we all learn and grow in Christ's love together. We encourage you to share your thoughts, complete assignments (when provided) and be comfortable!

L.I.F.E. Recovery Group for Men

For Men on Tuesday at 7:00pm PT | Weekly | Online

Leader(s): Don Gerdts

LIFE = Living in Freedom Everyday.

Let’s face it. Unwanted, unhealthy and unscriptural sexual behaviors such as pornography and adultery are just as prevalent among Christians as they are in society at large. There are many believers who, because of painful experiences and choices, compulsively use sex, sex substitutes and relationships as an escape or medication to help them cope with life. Many of these same people desperately long to be free from their bondage and intensely desire to live in sexual integrity.

This L.I.F.E. Recovery Group is a support group dedicated to helping people be free from the bondage of unwanted sexual behaviors and their consequences and equipping them to walk in God’s unconditional love. While not a therapy group, the L.I.F.E. Recovery Groups (separate groups for men and women) is facilitated by a married Christian couple who has experienced both devastation and transformation from sexual brokenness, including being participants and facilitators of the content and curriculum in the L.I.F.E. Recovery Guides. The group incorporates guided curriculum, spiritual discipline, small group accountability, and ongoing prayer and support for those dealing with sexual brokenness. While there is much within the content and curriculum to help the struggler identify and deal with their wounds, we also encourage individual therapy to address root issues that often lead to unwanted behaviors, both as individuals and in marriage relationships.

The ongoing support so critical to the process of transformation comes from the connection of lives through this small group, which involve open, transparent and accountable connections with fellow strugglers.

This L.I.F.E. Recovery Group values confidentiality and maintains an absolute commitment to provide a safe atmosphere for complete honesty and acceptance, where members are embraced in an attitude of love and forgiveness from others sharing common struggles. All of these components “guide” the group members toward Christ-centered sexuality, according to the conviction that our true sexual identity is found in the freedom and grace that only Jesus can offer.

The format of the L.I.F.E. Recovery Group for Men is to begin with an initial introductory meeting followed by study of the specific curriculum for approximately 26 weeks. About every 6 weeks, the men and women will regroup for joint sessions to share together, with a final group meeting to discuss next steps.

The curriculum of the L.I.F.E. Recovery Guide is based on seven principles, similar to the eight principles from Celebrate Recovery, which are specific to those who struggle with unwanted sexual behavior. Below is the syllabus:

Syllabus for Male strugglers
We admit that we have absolutely no control of our lives. Sexual sin has become unmanageable.

Admitting Our True Condition
Understanding Our Cycle
Identifying Our Roots and Desires
We believe in God, accept the grace offered through His Son, Jesus Christ, and surrender our lives and our wills to Him on a daily basis.
Exploring Our Reluctance
Surrendering Control
Placing Hope in God
We make a list of our sins and weaknesses and confess those to a person of spiritual authority.
Admitting Our Darkness
Outlining Our Darkness
Confessing Our Darkness
We seek accountability and to build our character as children of God.
Accepting Accountability
Assessing Our Character
Cultivating Our Character
We explore the damage we have done, accept responsibility, and make amends for our wrongs.
Assessing the Damage
Planning Amends
Living Amends
In fellowship with others we develop honest, intimate relationships where we celebrate our progress and continue to address our weaknesses.
Practicing the Program
Changing Our Cycle
Growing In Spirituality
As we live in sexual integrity, we carry the message of Christ’s healing to those who still struggle, and we pursue a vision of God’s purpose for our lives.
Telling Your Story
Sharing Your Pain
Discovering Your Vision

I’m powerless over the choices of my spouse
Finding the Solution: I have only one option
Telling the truth: I confess my own sins and weaknesses
Growing in transformation: I mature in character.
